Create behaviors for web site links?
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Situation - while I predominantly use Plex, there are some sites that either don't have a Plex plugin, or in some cases, actually going to the website gives a better experience than using the Plex plugin for that service.

What I'm wanting to know - is can you create a plugin for a weblink? In other words, I go to the website, drag the url into a weblink on my desktop (or wherever), can I then create a behavior for that weblink, so it will automatically "load" it, etc.? I'll try tonite, but would be interesting to know ahead of time (or if there are other issues, etc. regarding that type of use).

Thanks.

Thanks for asking.

You've multiple possibilities:

1) Creating a menu item
a) Drag a link from f.ex. Safari to your Desktop or a folder of your
choice.
b) Just drag the created webloc-file into your custom menu (at Prefs >
Menu)

2) Create a custom action
Create a custom action with this AppleScript in it (replacing iospirit.com
with the URL you want to open):
tell application "Safari" to open location "http://www.iospirit.com/"

HTH.
