Kanex XD - Hot key function (command+F2)
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hello,

can't figure this one out. I have my PS3 hooked up through an apadpter called the Kanex XD. I uses the new (late 2009) 27" imac as an external display. TO toggle between my imac and the ps3 I use command + F2 to toggle back and forth from desktop computer to HD source (the pS3).

How can I assign a button on my remote to do this action for me? I tried in the mapping, but was unable to.

Thanks for your help.

Gabriel

Thanks for asking.

If Cmd+F2 is a global hotkey, you can still enter it this way:

1) Click in the hotkey entry field
2) Press just F2 (without pressing the Cmd key)
3) Tick the Cmd checkbox next to the hotkey entry field

Have you succeeded to enter the hotkey as suggested in my previous post (http://www.iospirit.com/support/forums/remotebuddy/singlethread/14992/) - i.e. does the field now read "Cmd F2" (or "88 F2")?

Depending on your keyboard and settings, you may have to press the Fn key on your keyboard to enter F2 instead of adjusting brightness.

If you read Cmd F2 in the keystroke field and the execution of the action doesn't result in a switch, chances are the switch can't be triggered by a simulated keystroke - only by a real keystroke from an actual keyboard.
