Please take a look a the Energy Saving options at RB Preferences > Hardware > Bluetooth Receiver.

Is anything enabled there?

I can't reproduce this issue with Remote Buddy 1.26 and OS X 10.10 on a MacBook Pro Retina 15" (2012).

Have you tried exchanging the batteries in the Wii Remote?

Do you see any messages offering more details in Console.app ("All Messages" view) at the time the issue occurs?

Thanks for the info!

Would you be willing to provide me with a Bluetooth Explorer (an Apple dev tool) log from the time this happens? This should provide some more insight into what happens on your machine - and how it differs from mine. I could also forward it to Apple Engineering (as a bugreport) if I can't make sense of it myself.

If that's something you'd consider, please contact me at felix . schwarz [a] iospirit com.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Felix Schwarz

I have this problem as well.

The Nintendo Wii Remote discounts after 2 - 5 minutes and then asks for pass code. It happens more often if I have another bluetooth device connected as well. It only happens on 10.10 and not on previous versions.

If OS X Bluetooth stack requests a PIN from you, it's usually because it doesn't have correct info on file for your device.

You can usually fix this issue by removing the bad info from the cache of the OS X Bluetooth stack. The process for the Sony PS3 BD Remote is detailed here:

https://www.iospirit.com/support/faqs/remotebuddy/category/14/Hardware-Sony-BD-Remote-Control/entry/246/-/

These instructions were created with the help of Apple, to whom I've reported this issue - mostly in connection with the BD Remote - numerous times over the years.

If you replace "BD Remote Control" with "Nintendo RVL-CNT-01", the same steps should work for the Wii Remote.

Please let me know if it helps.

Are you using a Wii Remote - or a Wii Remote Plus?

I found a strange solution. If I turn off all bluetooth devices except the keyboard and wii remote - the problem is solved.
If I turn on at least one more device (touchpad or magic mouse), Wiimote controller turns off after a while.
