iTunes receives commands when Plex is the front app
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hello,

I'm using Remote Buddy Express on a machine that is also used as my media center. So on the machine, there's the latest OS X, iTunes and the Plex Media Theatre.

When I navigate in Plex, iTunes receives the commands and starts to play songs.

Is there a way to make sure only the app at the front gets the commands?

Thanks for your help,

Sébastien

Hello Sébastien,

I'll need a bit more info to be really helpful:

1) Which version of OS X and Plex are you using?

2) Do you have Remote Buddy's driver (Candelair) installed?

Thanks,
Felix

Hello Felix,

Thanks for your reply!

I am using OS X Yosemite, 10.10. The Plex app is "Plex Home Theatre", in version 1.3.1.409-5989c392.

Remote Buddy Express is in version 1.26.1. Candler is in version 1.12, driver 1.24.

I tried several configurations, including setting each button to not do any actions in the iTunes behavior and the global settings.

What else can I try? Or what can I do to help you help me :)

Thanks again, cheers,

Sébastien

Hello Sébastien,

thanks for the additional info!

The version of Candelair you're using is not up to date and - in fact - not compatible with Yosemite.

Please update it to the latest version (via https://www.iospirit.com/labs/candelair/ or within the System Preferences pane). After a restart, you should have version 1.25 with driver version 1.25 installed.

That should fix the issue you experience.

Cheers,
Felix
