Will RB work with the older EyeTV software. I have an EyeTv DTT worth £60, and the software is upgrade is £60 i can't justify it.

Cheers.

Paul.

Hello Paul,

since I don't have EyeTV 1.x or even hardware that would work with
it, I really can't tell. But you can try out Remote Buddy for free
for 30 days. So why not just give it a shot?

Cheers,
Felix

Hi,

I tried it and it works, but.. Somtimes when you access the menu (with the pic of Apple remote) if you click back < the EyeTv channel changes rather than the menu regressing. Just a bug i thought i'd point out. The only fix is to quit RB.

Anybody else get this too?

Hello Paul,

thanks! That's interesting indeed.

Did you change the mapping for the EyeTV behaviour?

Thanks again,
Felix

Hi,

No i did not, maybe i should. How do i do this? The eyetv has it's own remote feature, maybe it's picking up the command and conflicting?. I will try with the remote out of 'line of sight'. a quick request if i may... video_ts support as per distantDVD would be cool.

Regards

Paul.

PS, i bought this tool, for all those out there thinking about it there is no better media centre, not really marketed as one but 'centre stage' supports nothing currently, and 'media central' does not do eyetv dtt EZ or usb. with the remote you can do it all using, if you have to the mouse support and os x's 'key caps' app found in 'international' in 'sys' prefs'.

Hi Paul,

since the main menu does not respond but rather the functionality
mapped to the button is executed, I do not think that this is a
hardware problem with either eyetv or the line of sight. Something is
likely to go wrong in event handling. I'll audit the respective code
later.

If you find step by step instructions on how to reproduce this, I'd
be most thankful since it will make it a lot easier for me to find
the cause of the problem.

Thanks!

Felix,

i have tried this withanother mac, and using the keyspan remote. The same thing happend after 2-3mins of play about. I click 'menu' then 'left' and the channel changes. another symtom is thet the menu with the remote pic on it will not go away untill the RB is quit. i hope you can replicate it so you can fix it.

Cheers.

Paul

Hello Paul,

thanks!

I'll finally find time to give the respective code an audit later today.
