Hi Dave,
thanks for the feedback!
Sam i think your have been stealing my thoughts i almost posted
these a little while back but got distracted and forgot. anyway a
few additions
1. Option for larger fonts and larger menu area
Place where this is worst (for me) is in the file browser. The Xbox
media center way of scrolling the currently selected file name back
and forth so you can read the whole thing would be useful.
Thanks. This inspires me for another feature (even better than
scrolling back and forth ;-)
3. (option) Always open videos in VLC, dont give me an option
More generally i think the following would be useful
Pressing play on a file name opens in default app pressing right
opens the list of apps to choose from.
I already thought of this, too. While I ditched the idea at that
time, it makes great sense with some of the new features possible
with Preview 6.
And some more
VLC bindings: add the jump forward/jump back vlc commands i don't
tend to use the vlc playlist so the next/previous options are not
of much use.
You can change the mapping to your needs in the preferences at any time.
Eyetv 2.3 support (ok i know your working on that but it looks so
nice)
I'm currently looking into this.
open VIDEO_TS directories in VLC and DVD player
I'm looking into this as well.
RSS menu that displays headlines pressing play opens them up in
nice big fonts so i can read them while i'm dashing about in the
morning.
inbox browsing in the same way as above (entorage and mail).
frontrow style menus for itunes (playlists artists albums etc)
At least some of these things are on the ToDo list, I'll have to see
about others.
Ok i know that some of these are hard, so quick question does/will
the sdk have the power to allow me to write some of this stuff myself.
The SDK, as it is now, already lets you do all of this. You'd
currently have to bring your own menus (for the iTunes stuff),
though. However, Remote Buddy has made and continues to make huge
steps forward, so Behaviours offer a lot more functionality now than
the current SDK shows.
I hope to provide an updated SDK, soon. But not before preview 6
(which I personally consider the greatest update ever - both as in
great and in the number of new/enhanced features).
Best regards,
Felix
