User-defined Actions

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
How do I add user-defined actions to the menu without linking them to a behaviour first? And is there any way to modify events for built-in behaviours? I would like to run a script to mount a remote volume each time front row is activated.

Thanks!

Hello Christian,

thanks for asking.

How do I add user-defined actions to the menu without linking them
to a behaviour first?

All you have to do is to activate the "Globally available" checkbox
in the Action Factory's "Metadata" pane for the action.

And is there any way to modify events for built-in behaviours? I
would like to run a script to mount a remote volume each time front
row is activated.

You can do that, too:

1) Create a new action in the Behaviour Construction Kit with the
"Globally available" checkbox checked.
2) Add an AppleScript actor with the code to mount the volume of your
choice.
3) Add a "Behaviour Action" actor and choose "Activate / Deactivate
Front Row".
4) Choose it in any place of your liking.

Best regards,
Felix
