Sony PS3 / BD Remote Control Version 2.0
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Are there plans to add support for version 2.0 of the Sony PS3 / BD Remote Control?

I ask because Remote buddy doesn't currently offer support for the volume or channel change buttons at the bottom of the new remote, pictured here: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71Np-p7SSlL._SL1500_.jpg.

I'm using the remote to prototype TV experiences and not having access to these buttons is very frustrating - in the meantime is there a workaround to allow me to use these buttons? They must be sending a bluetooth signal to remote buddy - how do I have it listen for these and respond to them?

Thanks.

Thanks for asking.

The remote control you are referring to is actually a combined IR/Bluetooth universal remote:

- the "PS3" buttons for which button presses are sent over Bluetooth all work with Remote Buddy

- the "TV" buttons (like volume & channel), which are _only_ sent as IR (infrared) signals encoded for TV sets, don't reach Remote Buddy over Bluetooth (there's literally no data transmitted over Bluetooth for these buttons) and therefore can't be supported

If you're looking for a remote where you can decide where a button press should go, I can recommend the Harmony Smart Remote.
