I don't think its really a solution, though. Remote Buddy behaviours 
aim at allowing control over an application without requiring 
additional hardware (mouse / keyboard) or behaviour switching (i.e. 
virtual keyboard).

I just fired up Democracy Player and tried the shortcuts that are 
listed in that forum.

While I must admit that I'm not using Democracy Player regularly and 
I may be missing something obvious, I don't see a possibility for the 
user to choose a video in DP and thus the remote control would 
basically only be usable when a video is already running to pause it, 
go to the next video or switch full screen mode. No fast-forwarding, 
no rewind.

However, in the same thread the DP forum admin says that AppleScript 
support is planned in the near future, so I think it's better to wait 
until then rather than integrating an incomplete solution already now.
