menu scrolling issues

I have a keyspan express receiver with an apple remote connected to my 12" powerbook G4 with 10.4.8. Though remote buddy seems like an awesome program i'm having problems scrolling through menus. When i click the + to go up the menu often jumps two menu items up as if i hit the button twice. Some times when I push the + the program starts scrolling through the menu and won't stop at all. I have the most problems when using itunes, especially trying to get to the ratings menu which is refuses to stop on. I just reformatted my computer and reinstalled tiger along with remote buddy but the problem still continues. Has anyone had these problems or know why i'm having these issues? I never installed the keyspan software, i just plugged in the receiver, launched remote buddy and used the apple remote. Should I be doing something different?

thank you all for the help.

Hello Steve,

thanks for the report!

Which version of Remote Buddy are you using?

Which CPU speed does your PowerBook have?

Does the menu scrolling feel slow?

Best regards,
Felix

i have the latest version of remote buddy and am running a 867 Mhz G4 with 640 MB of ram. the scolling is actually quite quick and the processing power/ram doesn't seem to be the issue. In fact when the scrolling gets "stuck" and just continually scrolls it's very quick. The problem seems to be erratic where is sometimes happens in all menus, however it always happens with the itunes menu.

Hello Steve,

thanks for letting me know. I think it is a timing issue and I'm
currently working on a general fix to this entire category of
problems. Basically, what happens is that Remote Buddy is spending
too much time in the menu on your Mac, which causes a repeat timer to
be fired, which, in turn, leads to the observed result. There is a
way to fix it, but it's rather complex. But, rest assured, I'm on it :-)

Please let me know if the next version does not fix it for you.

Best regards,
Felix
