VLC/DVD Player and Movie Library Problem
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi.

Integration of the Movie Library in the VLC and DVD Player menus is a great idea! After the software update it worked for a while but then it stopped finding Video_TS folders. It now says "No matching items found". The Video_TS folders were not rearranged or moved. What can I do?

Thanks!

Hello Camille,

thanks for your posting.

Does Spotlight find anything, if you enter VIDEO_TS (press Apple +
Space and enter VIDEO_TS)?

Where do you store these folders? On an internal or external HD,
network volume or CD / DVD?

Remote Buddy does actually keep the Spotlight search live and will
update the search results if you leave and reenter the Movie Library.
So, even if you copy a DVD to your harddrive while Remote Buddy is
running, it should turn up.

Best regards,
Felix

Felix,

thanks for your fast reply. I had checked if Spotlight sees the folders, and it does. The Video_TS folders are on an external drive which is permanently on.

What remains a mystery to me is that Remote Buddy once saw the folders, but now refuses to find them.

I will reinstall Remote Buddy, do a restart (again) and see and report what happens. If, in the meantime, you have advice, please let me know!

Best regards for now,
Camille

I am having the issue of Movie Library (busy...) have not yet been able to try this out. I love the iTunes addition but would like faster scrolling with the letter popping up like the new iPods do, and the wii implications could be really amazing. Keep up the great work this update is by far my favorite so far!!!

Hi Felix,

all the best for the new year! I checked the situation and I guess remote buddy has a problem getting the info from spotlight. When RB does not find anything in the movie library, I restart RB and then all is fine. It seems to fix the problem. Hope this is some help towards a bugfix.

Best regards,

Hi Camille,

thanks! All the best for you, yours (and everybody else around
here ;), too!

I haven't tried attaching and detaching drives while the query is
running. I've added a refernce to this thread in the ToDo-list, so
I'll be sure to investigate the problem until I find a solution!

Best regards,
Felix
