additional IR commands for URM-15T
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Does the UIA-11F (the IR receiver part of the URM-15T) accept IR commands other than the 34 available with the packaged remote?

My thought is to map 50 or so buttons, so that I can utilize all the buttons on my harmony remote. This really could become the ultimate htpc solution for me....makes me want to get an intel mini, but i guess my question would still stand with the Apple IR receiver.

thoughts?

ps. you created an AMAZING product, such clean development work. great interface design...thank you!

Hello Avidan,

thanks for your posting.

The URM-15T should be the "Keyspan Remote for iTunes" package. Are
you using the included hardware with Remote Buddy?
(I'm asking, because I could add that package to the compatibility
list as well, then)

That said, the receiver is not bound to a specific protocol as far as
I can see. It should basically support receiving any command that is
sent within the receivable range of its IR diode.

Adding the capability to learn new IR codes to Remote Buddy's driver
for the Keyspan IR should in fact be well possible and not too hard
either. It's just a question of time.

In contrast to that, the Apple IR receiver does not seem to be able
to support any other IR commands than those of the Apple Remote. You
can find more on the Apple IR receiver and its capabilities in the FAQ.

Best regards,
Felix
