Getting focus for launched app ?
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi,

Maybe this is a newbie question, but if I shutdown all apps, then launch an EyeTV function (eg. LiveTV Command-O ), Remotebuddy launches the EyeTV app and goes to LiveTV.

However, the focus is still on Finder, and you're left with the OSX menu bar on screen.

Is there a way to get the focus onto the EyeTV app to block out the Apple menu bar ?

Hello Andrew,

thanks for asking.

I'll need a little more detail from you, though.

How do you launch EyeTV?

And how do you send that command to EyeTV? Using a custom action? If
so, did you tick the "Activate application" checkbox in the keyboard
actor?

At any rate, adding an AppleScript actor to your custom action with
this code

tell application "EyeTV" to activate

should both launch and activate EyeTV.

Best regards,
Felix

Thanks for your prompt reply Felix,

I found that the default EyeTV behaviour action "Toggle Fullscreen" will launch EyeTV from the Finder ( but will not go Fullscreen ). So then I press "Toggle Fullscreen" again and it will work.

For some reason, I cleared the button mapping and re-applied it and now it seems to work OK.

I will let you know if this changes for any reason.

Hello Andrew,

thanks for reporting this. Makes perfect sense. I'll fix it in the
next release.

Best regards,
Felix
