Hi!
Purchased RemoteBuddy yesterday, after trying it for 2 weeks. I love
it so much -- it was the missing piece to make a "Mac Media Center"
fit my tastes. Without RemoteBuddy, I wouldn't have ordered my Mac
mini and EyeTV Hybrid yet.
Of course, it's still beta, and version 1, so I have requests ;-)
1- is it possible to add very customized "items" in the menus, i.e.
when I'm in EyeTV and I press "Menu" on my Apple Remote, I get the
EyeTV behaviour menu on my screen, where I have two "specialized
items" (if I can call them this way): Recordings and TV Stations,
which I use often. But for other features, like the veeeery useful
Program Guide, I have to hold my "menu" button so I get EyeTV's own
full screen menu appear, then press "menu" again to go up one level,
then scroll down to the Program Guide. Phhheeew!! My thumb works too
hard for this one.
2- In EyeTV again, I'd like RemoteBuddy to know the difference
between viewing a recording and viewing Live TV. For example, the
"back" and "next" buttons are used to switch channels when viewing
live tv, but to fast forward/rewind, I have to hold them. I'd like to
be able to map different actions to the "holding state" depending if
I'm viewing live tv of a recording.
3- Is there a way to add in, let's say, the System behavior, a very
specific need I have: to turn on and off the "Overscan" checkbox that
lives in OS X's Display Preferences. When this option is on, the
image fills my entire TV, but crops parts of the EyeTV Program Guide
(in full screen menu).
4- I'm not sure I can figure out how to use the Behavior construction
kit (I ain't no programmer nor Applescripter) but I' d reeeeeally
like to see a Skype behavior being developed. My dream would be to
have the same functionalities that the guys at MediaCentral did: a
full screen menu for Skype, "activat-able" and operable from my
couch, with the help of RemoteBuddy's flexibility.
That's about it for now.
Thanks for this excellent and promising product and its good pricing.
