This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information. Hi All, I've noticed that new EyeTV recordings do not always appear in the recordings menu. When this happens they can be made to appear by navigating to the top level menu. Perhaps every time the recording menu is displayed it could re-check the recordings (including any new ones started by schedule that are still recording). I was able to replicate this by entering the recordings menu and then using the menu button to exit. Then start a new recording. Hit menu and it doesn't show up. Navigate up to the high level and bak down to recordings and up it shows. best, chris

Hardware - Apple® Remote
To enable you to use all capabilities of the IR Receiver of your Mac®, Remote Buddy is using its own driver. In contrast, all other applications with integrated Apple® Remote support usually use the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.
As long as you're running Remote Buddy, Remote Buddy and its driver are responsible for turning the received button presses into actions. As soon as you quit Remote Buddy, this task is again handled by the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.
If other applications don't use the interface to the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem correctly, this can lead to the effect that nothing happens when you press a button on your Apple® Remote. For as long as you're running Remote Buddy, issues like this are covered by Remote Buddy and it's driver and are therefore not visible to you. However, as soon as you quit Remote Buddy, the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem is back in control and any issues caused in it by other applications become visible.
Therefore Remote Buddy is neither the cause of the issue nor is it responsible for it. Instead, the cause of the issue exists independently of Remote Buddy. It's located elsewhere and can also only be solved there.
Although our products can't cause any such issues, we're regularly contacted about such issues and asked for help. In order to make locating and fixing the cause of such issues as easy and efficient as possible, we've developed a free diagnostics tool: Remote Control Diagnostics. It can locate issues with a single click and will provide you with information about the issue as well as with instructions on how you can fix it.

Please consider making use of the free Remote Buddy trial version to test your device for compatibility directly on your computer.

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information. Hi Chris, the current design of Remote Buddy's menu does not allow for the currently displayed list to be updated. Navigating up one level and then again down a level (basically, if you are in the Recordings, press left, then right) should update the list, though. I hope to find a better solution in the future. Best regards, Felix

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information. Hi Felix, as you say left/right updates it in all scenarios I can think to test. How about just bumping the level left when a user toggles menu on the recordings list (while you work out a nice way how to address) ? best, chris

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information. Hello Chris, thanks for letting me know. I actually thought of a solution while being on the road today. It'll be in perfect harmony with other concepts in Remote Buddy. Went directly on the ToDo list ;-) Best regards, Felix

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information. Hi Felix, One small thing about the recordings list - it would be even better if it had an icon to show when there is one or more recordings in the list that are not shown on the screen (due to screen space). cheers, chris |

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information. Hello Chris, thanks for sharing. However, I don't directly understand what you want to see implemented exactly. A symbol on the foot of the menu that shows if there are more unshown items - or a way to quickly figure which recordings have not been viewed/played, yet? Best regards, Felix

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information. Hi Chris, thanks! I've thought about that before, but concluded that with the current menu display concept - one selection bar in the middle and the entries scrolling by - this would be duplicate information, as, when you have reached the last entry, you can also see there are none to follow. Best regards, Felix Schwarz

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information. I agree it is fine when you scroll down the list and get to the bottom (it is then logically clear there are no more recordings). I'm actually raising the case when you first bring up a large list of recordings and say 6 recordings are displayed (due to size or default) but there are another 3 off screeen (not shown). There is no indicator that there are more and hence nothing to hint one should be bothered scrolling through the list. This tripped up my wife who was convinced her scheduled recording failed (as she couldn't find it in the list). So I said - just always reemember to scroll through the list to check there are no other recordings off-screen .. I was thinking a little ".." or similar to say the list continues (off screen) ? cheees, chris |

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information. Hello Chris, thanks for sharing. I've added it to the ToDo list and will think about it :-) .. I see that it could be useful for some users, but in general it would only clutter the interface (for the nerdy ones ;-) .. may I'll add it and make it an option .. there's a new, perfect place for this kind of options in RC2 ;-) Best regards, Felix
