only seeing DVD folders in VLC
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hey folks,
I'm loving the UI over Remote Buddy but I have one (huge) issue.
I have a NAS drive with a structure of:
/drive/dvds
/drive/tv\ shows
/drive/movies
/drive/music

I made the assumption that RB was looking in the ~/Movies directory so I created a symbolic link to /drive/ in ~/Movies ... but all I was seeing was the contents of /drive/dvd

So I removed the symbolic link and made on for /drive/tv\ shows

still I only see things in the DVD directory.

So I removed that sym link... now there is literally nothing (no links, files or directories in my ~/Movies) but still, all I see is the contents of /drive/dvd

so, when I use VLC with RB is it scanning for things with a video_ts folder only? What about all my divx, avi, mkv, etc files?

Thanks in advance, I'm reallying looking forward to using RB more!

Hello Nick,

thanks for sharing.

The Movie Library is based on Spotlight and does currently only look
for VIDEO_TS folders. It will allow more customization and support
more formats in the future. Until then, you can already navigate to,
select and play your other movie files through the built-in file
browser.

If you build a customized menu, you can just drag and drop the
folders of interest directly in a place of your choice inside the
menu structure and get quicker access to them this way.

Best regards,
Felix
