Joost Issue
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
When I start up joost useing remote buddy the Remote BUddy menu stays on the screen for around 5 minutes.
Joost operates behind it but you can do nothing until the remote buddy menu finally goes away.
Anyone got a fix?

Thanks for reporting.

Remote Buddy should dismiss the menu right after the Behaviour has
been activated (which is - Joost has been launched and activated
using AppleScript).

What you are reporting sounds much like AppleScript going crazy on
the line

tell application "Joost" to activate

not finding an application named Joost, then timing out and returning
to Remote Buddy. Did you rename Joost by any chance?

Best regards,
Felix

I have the exact same problem. I did not renamed Joost.

I'm using Joost v0.10.9 and Remote Buddy 1.1

Thanks for the info!

Although I could not reproduce the problem, I've made a few changes
to parts of the Behaviour that could have caused them. Please use the
Online Updater to download the new version of the Behaviour and let
me know if it fixes the problem for you.

Felix

Hi Felix !

First of all, let me thank you for this great app. i just bought :0)

Secondly , i also have the same problem concerning Joost.
(RB window staying on top of Joost for a few minutes after applying behavior)

I downloaded the updated behaviour 1.1 for Joost but no luck.

I use the latest versions of RB en Joost on a Intel Mac mini , 10.4.10.

So just that you know.

Again : big hands up for this great little app. that extends my mac mediacenter experience for sure !

Hi Rob,

thanks for the feedback.

Is this on a Core Solo or Core Duo Mac Mini?

How much memory do you have installed in your Mac Mini have?

Since the Joost Behaviour starts Joost asynchronously and version 1.1
of the Behaviour does no longer use any AppleScript that could block
in the case that Joost does not reply to a message, I'm a bit lost as
to what would cause this. High CPU or memory consumption in Joost
(causing Remote Buddy to be swapped out) could be a cause, but this
shouldn't go on for minutes.

Do you start Joost through Remote Buddy - or do you switch to the
Joost Behaviour with Joost already running?

Best regards,
Felix
