Front Row is not listening to keyboard events in a normal way but
rather at the HID level. So it will not ignore the transmitted
hotkeys as it should (=> global hotkeys are filtered out by the OS
before anything gets handed down to the active application).
So, while normally the chain looks like this:
Mobile > HID event >
1) System detects Hotkey press > Remote Buddy receives Hotkey press
Behaviour > Triggers action
2) No event to frontmost app.
it looks like this for Front Now:
Mobile > HID event >
1) OS X detects Hotkey press > Remote Buddy receives Hotkey press >
Behaviour > Triggers action
2) Front Row reads directly from HID stream > bypasses normal Hotkey
filtering of OS X > triggers action (here: menu)
which leads to what you can see. So it's not an actual Remote Buddy
bug or anything that could be easily "fixable".
Best regards,
