Menu button (hold) behaves differently
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi!
Just updated to 1.1., and maybe it's just me, but now when I hold the menu button (Apple Remote) while in EyeTV, both EyeTV's Full Screen Menu AND Remote Buddy's menu show up. I have to press menu again to make RB's menu disappear.

I know this is directly linked to the way I have configured my RB, but why did it worked before upgrading?

I'm re-reading my post and I think I'm not that clear. So let's go "bullet-form":

- While in EyeTV, I want the menu button to make RB's menu appear, and I the menu button HOLD to make EyeTV's Full Screen Menu to appear

- It worked in my RB RC1 version

- I upgraded and now both menu show up when I hold my menu button

- I use an Apple Remote

Thanks in advance! :-)

Hi!

This could be another odd side effect of a bug that Apple introduced
(and didn't fix since) in OS 10.4.9 / Security Updates 2007-004 / OS
10.4.10.

Remote Buddy, however, provides an elegant fix. Please make sure to
install the Remote Buddy kernel extension via Remote Buddy's setup
wizard to fix the problem. For more details on the what and why,
please have a look at the FAQ entry titled

"When pressing the menu button, both the Remote Buddy menu and Front
Row are being displayed. Also, two actions are activated for other
buttons as well. I have this problem since installing OS 10.4.9 /
Security Updates 2007-004 / OS 10.4.10."

If you already have the kernel extension installed, please send me a
screenshot of your Behaviour mapping's view to IOSPIRIT's info address
(as seen in the imprint) and provide me with more details on what you
need to do to reproduce the problem and in which state EyeTV's user
interface was at the time (i.e. full screen, windowed, running video,
no video window, ..).

The other two options for which I'll need that info would either be an
as of yet unknown bug in Remote Buddy's EyeTV fullscreen handling
routine - or in EyeTV itself, if your EyeTV hardware sports a built-in
IR receiver.

Best regards,
Felix
