Lost connection to BD Remote
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
The story so far:

Last week I buy a Sony BD remote for use with Remote Buddy. Everything works like a charm, and I'm controlling my Mac Mini in all ways possible :)

Then come the end of this week when my remote refuses to do anything (in connection to Remote Buddy), so I change batteries, re-pair the control -- basically anything I can think of.

Remote Buddy "sees" the control and responds to Enter+Start re-pairing/the setup wizard, but nothing else.

I have done the following:
* Restarted (several times)
* Updated everything (via Software Update).
* Re-paired the control several times

Pressing a button on the remote wakes the Mini from sleep, so there obviously is a connection.

Mini Core Duo, OSX 10.4.10, and new batteries in the remote.

I'm out of ideas!

Anders

Hello Anders,

I've recently found a bug in the BD Remote driver that in effect
places too much restrictions on what raw data it expects to come from
the remote. That raw data may or may not be the battery level (I'm
still investigating). In either way, the next release should fix this
problem. Please drop me a note, if it does not and I'll send you a
debug version.

A fresh set of batteries with the same electrical specs (especially
the mAh value) as those shipping with the remote may work as a
temporary. I'd have loved to supply that mAh value to you, but my set
of "Sony Super" batteries don't have any such data printed on them.

Best regards,
Felix

Hi Felix,

I tried with a freshly recharged pair of batteries and the remote started working again...

The battery stats is 1.2v/2000mah, if I remember correctly.

Here's hoping the next version solves the problem :)
