iphone browser recognition...

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
hello, i am new to using the remote buddy, and i am excited to hear
of all the successes. ive done all the preparation for getting my
iphone recognized in the virtural receiver, and typed in the password
necessary. i then launched the sites where you access the remotes
where on my macbook safari proved successful, but on my iphone were
not. i did the FAQ's and set up my firewall as instructed on my mac,
but yet the browser on my iphone still fails to recognize or connect
to the server. what can i do to become as happy as the rest of you are?

Hi there,

this sounds like a network problem. As network setups can be pretty
complex and thus fragile, here are a few diagnostic questions that
help me to get an idea of what might be going on with your setup:

1) what status is it showing in Preferences > Hardware > AJAX Remote >
Options?

2) Is your firewall actually active (if not, you won't need to add a
passthrough)?

3) Are your Mac and your iPhone connected to the same WLAN network?

3a) If not, please describe how both your Mac and your iPhone connect
to their respective networks.

4) Did you try several different IPs? If so, which interfaces (i.e.
eth0, eth1, etc.) do they belong to?

Best regards,
Felix
