Multiple Speakers & Applescript Questions
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
I love, love, LOVE the ability to switch speakers via my AJAX remote, but was wondering if there's a reason why it's not possible to choose "Multiple Speakers" as opposed to just sending it to one set via RB. Would it be possible to add this or an "All Speakers" option"?

Also, is it possible to add the ability to trigger iTunes Applescripts? I know this is a long-shot, but thought I'd ask...I use a couple of scripts to jump forward and backwards in Podcasts and would love to have the ability to do it in Remote Buddy.

If not, people reading this query and wondering if it's possible should know that Telekinesis can do it, but with about 1% of the ease Remote Buddy's interface offers.

Either way, thanks for making my iPhone the best Universal Remote on the market!

Regarding multiple speakers: as said in the FAQ, that’s currently not
supported. I'm sorry to say, but I currently lack the time to explain
in-depth why, but rest assured: this is for a reason.

Regarding scripts:

You sure can add your own. Just add either a custom action or an
action in the BCK, make sure you tick the "globally available"
checkbox and you can add it as a menu item anywhere in the menu. Then,
you can access the menu through the "Menu" button in the AJAX Remote
and thus your custom AppleScripts.

Best regards,
Felix

Happy to hear that you are busy.

I am hoping to use Remote Buddy and a number of Airport Express/speaker sets, Airport Extreme, an iPod Touch, and a dedicated Mac to work as a multi room music system. Understanding that Remote Buddy does many things, my limited requirement is support for iTunes and supporting multiple speakers.

Do you have a timescale for when that might be available? Or does a problem with iTunes/Apple make that impossible. It would be good to know wherein the problem lies.
