SlingBox External IR Remote for Mac?
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hey guys, so I have slingbox (with the slingplayer application on my MAC) and I just downloaded Remote Buddy because I wanted to use the apple remote (the one used mostly with itunes) to change the change when I am watching TV on my computer. However, I noticed that the apple remote only changes channels up and down ( I can't jump from HBO to ESPN easily without hitting the button like 200 times). So I was wondering if you guys new about any other remotes (that have numbers and the regular options of a TV remote) that can be used on a MAC slingplayer.

I know that for Windows Slingplayer they have this product called Streamzap (which is basically a normal TV remote that can be programmed to your slingplayer). However, I haven't been able to find a remote like this for MAC??? Streamzap is not compatible for MAC. I've done hours of researching and have only found the Keyspan Express Remote, but that doesn't have numbers either. It can only go up and down like the apple remote.

Any Ideas??? Thanks.

I don't have any access to a SlingBox (as of now, they are not
available in Germany), so I'm unable to say anything regarding their
software, its capabilities or the possibilities to remotely control
it. As a rule of thumb, though: if there's a keyboard shortcut for
something, you can usually also control it using Remote Buddy.

If you look for a remote control with numbers, the Sony PS3 BD Remote
is a good choice (if your Mac has Bluetooth).
