thanks for the replies,
I'm a bit lost on a few things. First off, I'm using
10.4.x -do I need to step up to 10.5? My front row is a hobbled hack
(to bring it back after apple took it away around 10.4.11) , so that
is probably not so good either.
I've gotten front row to start up a few times and found it lacking -
wasn't able to customize its menus at all- Im hoping remote buddy
will allow me to remove 'shuffle' as the first menu item ...
Please keep in mind that Remote Buddy and Front Row are two different
and completely independant things.
Remote Buddy 1.x runs on 10.4.6 and later. No update to 10.5 is needed
to run Remote Buddy. Remote Buddy's menus can be customized. Front
Row's menus can't. Apple doesn't offer you any such options.
Also, will I be able to hit 'record' while watching eytv live?
Remote Buddy has great EyeTV support. You can start and stop recording
in EyeTV via Remote Buddy just like you can when using EyeTV with a
mouse and keyboard.
I recommend you to download the free, 30 day, feature-unlimited trial
version from the Remote Buddy website. It also comes with its own Help
that includes a chapter of step-by-step How-Tos, which is a great
starting point if you want to customize it.
Best regards,
Felix Schwarz
