Various suggestions
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
I have been using Remote Buddy for a few days with Plex and XMBC with my Sony DB Bluetooth Remote. I really like it and bought it, but I have a few suggestions which will make it even better ;)

1) Under each application in the menu, there should be a way to easily launch (and focus) the application if it's not allready started. Right now it only possible to focus the application if it's allready started.

2) Possible to forcefully shutdown running apps which are not responding. For example Plex sometimes freeze for me and I have to grab my keyboard and mouse to shut it down.

3) Possible to launch (or show if running) app with a remote keypress (mappable action) instead of browsing thru Remote Buddy's menus.

That's all... hope this will be available in a future version :)

Thanks for your comments.

Regarding 1):
If you don't want to descend into a Behaviour's context menu to choose
"Activate Behaviour", you can select the respective option in the
Extended Options at Prefs > Menu > Menu size & effects. The activation
of a Behaviour will also start the app it controls if it's not already
running. If you want to explicitly bring an already running app to
front (and make it the focused application), you can choose "Bring to
Front" from the respective Behaviour's Context Menu.

Regarding 2):
Remote Buddy already can do that. You can either use

Menu Root Level > System > Application Manager > .. > Force quit

or

Behaviour Context Menu > Force quit

Regarding 3)
This functionality is already there. You can map the activation of a
Behaviour (and thus trigger the launch of the app controlled by that
Behaviour, if it's not already running) by selecting the respective
action found under "Behaviours > Active .. Behaviour" from the popup
in the respective mapping table at Prefs > Mapping.

Best regards,

Hi !

Sorry that i use this old thread but i don't find anything else which is related to my problem:

For me the function force quit ("sofort beenden") of XBMC doesn't work via RB. Sometimes XBMC freezes and then i have to pull out the keyboard … low batteries … and so on ;-)

Maybe a problem or wrong configuration ? Any hints for me ?
