I have browsed the forums and found a few people having problems getting Remote Buddy to see input from the Eye TV remote. Is there a fix?

I have an Eye Tv hybrid and have had no success getting the two to work together. Remote Buddy sees multiple EyeTV remotes (it seems to add a new one every time I press a button).

Help is appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for asking.

I'm lacking too many infos to be of any help. Please let me know:

Which version of EyeTV are you using?

Which EyeTV hardware are you using?

Which remote are you using? The only labeled with "eyetv"?

Which version of Remote Buddy are you using?

What Mac and OS X version are you using?

Please also send me a screenshot of what you describe to the email
address found in the imprint. If possible, please also include a
system profile in that email, so I can get a better idea of your
configuration.

Hi All,

I am having a similar issue.

I am running Eye TV 3.2.1 & Remote Buddy 1.15.1 (Demo Mode)

The Eye TV remote shows up in remote buddy.

The problem is that the remote will not control any applications. Not even Eye TV.

I am thinking this is a simple issue that I am just not understanding.

Ultimately I would like to use Remote Buddy (buy if it actually works) to run PLEX and control it with the Eye TV remote via Remote Buddy?

Is this possible?

Thank you,

Justin

Hi,

Just wanted to add myself to the list of people having issues with remote buddy and the eyetv hybrid receiver.

I use OS X 10.6.2
I first installed eyetv 3.2.1
Then had candelair 1.1 installed (with Plex) before installing Remote Buddy 1.16.
Remote Buddy does not show the eyetv hybrid in the receiver list.

Remote Buddy does not react on any input from the eyetv remote - nor on input harmony remote emulating an eyetv remote.

Any new insights here ?

Thank you

Today I found that the eyetv remote works with remote buddy AS LONG AS EYETV IS RUNNING.
As soon as I quit eyetv - remote buddy does not response to the elgato remote anymore.

Please allow me to quote from

Software and Hardware-Requirements

You need a compatible EyeTV receiver and remote control. Button presses received by EyeTV receivers are decoded by EyeTV and handled by Remote Buddy. Therefore EyeTV and Remote Buddy need to be running at the same time.
