Quick question, virtual mouse doesn't work
View

hi everyone,

I just installed Remote Buddy 1.12, I'm running on Macbook Pro on Leopard 10.5.6

Everything seems to work great except for the virtual mouse.

When I go to virtual mouse and activate behaviour, I can only control mouse movement by pushing the buttons. I thought Remote Buddy could control mouse movement like a real remote control where it tracks my analog movement.

Unless I'm mistaken and Remote Buddy doesn't support this but I swear a show a demo of Remote Buddy where people were able to move the mouse freely like a real remote or wii mote. May someone please let me know if I'm doing something wrong or haven't enable something?

Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to trying out the software and to buying it, if the virtual mouse works! =P

Kind regards,

Thanks for asking.

The Wii Remote is currently the only supported remote that allows to
move the mouse cursor without pushing buttons, because it is the only
remote that has the required set of sensors - namely the motion
sensors and the infrared camera (*).

All other supported remotes only have buttons. None of them have any
sensors. With these remotes, it is therefore physically impossible to
support a virtual mouse functionality with anything else than button
presses, because their hardware doesn't have anything else to offer.

You can find a demo showing the Wii Remote and Remote Buddy in action
on the front page of the Remote Buddy website. I've also seen some
user videos on YouTube showing essentially the same. But we have never
claimed that you can do the same with any other remote, nor produced
or seen any video showing or implying anything different.

Best regards,
Felix Schwarz

(*) In combination with an infrared source like a Wireless Wii Sensor
Bar, which is a bar of infrared LEDs that serve as an infrared
"lighthouse" _for_ the infrared camera sensor. The sensor bar is a bit
unfortunately named, because it contains not a single sensor itself.
