Custom EyeTV Behavior?
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
I read how some people have created numerous virtural apple remotes to work with plex before it was added to the harmony remote software. I went about doing the same thing for eyetv (Software only v 3.0) only to realize that there was already eyetv behavior in RB. I wanted to have all the functionality I could using my Harmony One so Id created beaviors... Is there any way to be able to use all the buttons on the harmony remote (plus the soft touch screen buttons) to work with EyeTV and RB? I'v tried unmapping all the actions on the default and adding mine in but it isnt working...

Thanks

I strongly discourage trying to replace the built-in EyeTV Behaviour -
you'd waste a lot of time to duplicate already existing functionality
and you wouldn't reach the same level of integration and ease of use
that's already there.

If you want to add an action that you are missing, the best way to do
it is to add a custom action to the existing Behaviour (=> please see
RB Help > "How do I .." for step by step instructions).

I don't own a Harmony One, so I can't say anything about it. But if
it's anything like the other Harmony remotes, you should be able to
set up your remote to send IR codes of different Apple Remotes (each
having its own, different remote ID). When using Apple's built-in IR
receiver, Remote Buddy can distinguish Apple Remote IDs. Remote Buddy
also supports mapping different actions to Apple Remote buttons
depending on which Apple Remote ID was sent along with the button
code. With a learnable remote, you can use this to your advantage to
effectively have more than six buttons available for mapping.
