MythTv Mutliple key sends

I am trying out Remote Buddy to better integrate using my Mac Mini as a media center. It works great except for one application. MythTV. In that application when I am in the TV guide display and press the up button on my mac IR remote, it acts like I pressed it a bunch of times. It happens on the down button too, but not as much and never on the left or right buttons. It's also limited to the IR, because when I use the keyboard up/down I have no problem.

Any ideas? It's the only thing holding me back from using the remote, and MythTV is my main app.

Thanks for asking.

Right now, the Up/Down actions for MythTV send a

- "key pressed"-event when you press the remote's button
- "key repeat"-event for every 0.25 seconds the remote's button stays
pressed
- "key released"-event when you release the remote's button

Which version of MythTVBackend are you using?

The MythTVBackend Behaviour has been a user contribution and I don't
have any MythTV installation I could try this out with ATM.

I am using backend version 20.2. The problem I have is that they "repeat" does not seem to match your description. I click it once and release right away. Some times it goes up only a line or two and other times many lines for the same length of click. I have noticed the problem is much worse on the up than the down. Also it never happens on the right or left. Why would "up" exhibit the symptoms more than down and both up/down more than left or right?

Well, this is how it is defined and how events are sent. How an
application decides to handle these events is not within Remote
Buddy's control. But Remote Buddy offers a number of options on how
keyboard events should be issued, so you can select the way that can
be best handled by the target application.

Please try the following:

1) Go to Prefs > Mapping > MythTVFrontEnd, then repeat the following
steps for both the up and down buttons

2) Select "Custom actions.." for the respective button

3) Create an action that sends the up and down cursor keys to the
application and play with
a) the different methods keyboard events can be emulated in reaction
to button presses (under "Method")
b) the minimum interval between events (the field below the "Method"
popup)

You can test how the action behaves with the three test buttons on the
bottom.

Please let me know your results. If I know what is best handled by
MythTVFrontEnd, I can adapt the MythTVFrontEnd Behaviour accordingly.

Thanks in advance.
