I read through all the FAQ and Product information, but I didn't find the way to do what I'm looking for.

I would like to use a universal remote (JP1 or Harmony) with my Mac Mini, primarily for MythTV viewing, but also for other apps.

Can I use another set of IR commands to get more than 6 keys?
Or, can I set up 12 keys, simulating 2 different Apple remotes?

These entries from the FAQ may be relevant to this topic:

Hardware - Harmony® Smart Control

Hello ToddI

Yes you can use a Harmony Remote to have more than 6 keys.

In Logitech Database, there is a device name "Plex Player" (Multimedia computer/Plex) which was defined to control Plex. You can use this device to setup your Remote then have it known to Remote Buddy.

That's what i am doing on my MacMini HTPC (still work in progress). If you go to hardware tab in RB preference window, you have to check "enable support for multiple ..." then "Automatically authorize..". From the harmony remote just press a key and RB will discover ids (a number from 150 to 160).

To help identify which keys are corresponding to each remote, you may have to name Remotes to something meaningfull. Here is a list I grab from Plex forum :

This works quite well, although doing it for multiple applications is a real pain, since you have to go through all of those Apple remotes and change their default behavior.

I know that IOSPIRIT won't discuss future plans, but I hope that better support for Harmony remotes goes on the list. With multiple Apple Remote support working, they are almost there already. All that is needed to finish the job is a Harmony remote option in Remote Buddy that hides all of the messy details regarding which virtual Apple remote is doing what, and replaces it with a Harmony Remote entry with a list of Harmony commands like the one you provided. They could use the Plex command assignments from the list you provided; I imagine that Logitech would be happy enough to reproduce it as a Remote Buddy profile, so that Harmony users could just tell the Harmony software that they have a "Remote Buddy" media center.
