Remote Buddy - Hide Menu Button
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Is there a simple way to get out of the Remote Buddy menu at any point?

I have a Harmony Remote configured for Remote Buddy using 8 Apple Remotes in Remote Buddy, and would like a button on the Harmony to exit the menu without having to go back to the main application menu to exit/hide the menu.

Thanks for asking.

A simple press of the Menu button will do just that.

The menu button seems to function as more of an "Okay" button for me when in the menu.

If I'm on the "Hide Menu" option, it hides the menu, but if I'm on anything else, it goes into that sub menu or activates the feature.

I do have my menu button remapped to the right key on a remote (I'm using a Harmony remote configured with multiple virtual remotes) - would that be causing the problem?

Remote Buddy can only react to what it receives. It doesn't know the layout of customized virtual remote and can't take it into account.

So, if you're using a Harmony profile where the Menu button doesn't send the Apple Remote menu code, that's most certainly it.

If your Harmony sends an Apple Remote Menu button press, this will hide the Remote Buddy menu without any further navigation.
