Ehome Transceiver (Manta Tr1) not recognized
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hello,

i got reply from the Support stating this Hardware is supported:
However after several REstarts and De/In -stalling the 1.7.2 Driver,
still i have no idea why the eHome : Manta TR1 Transceiver is not recognized:

Some Details :
Mac Pro early 2008 on Mac OS X 10.6.2 ( before 10.6.1 with same result)
Manta TR1 Transceiver Here the USB Info from the System Profiler
eHome Infrared Transceiver:

Produkt-ID: 0xe03a
Hersteller-ID: 0x147a (Formosa21 Inc.)
Version: 0.20
Seriennummer: C0124C42
Geschwindigkeit: Bis zu 12 MBit/s
Hersteller: Formosa21
Standort-ID: 0xfd311000
Verfügbare Stromstärke (mA): 100
Erforderliche Stromstärke (mA): 100

Directly connected / on Hub no difference

to make sure no other extensions interfere :

which means only Little Snitch and Parallels installed Kernel Extension, all the rest are Apple own Extensions,
also quite understandable these are the only Extensions/Applications i would keep in favor of RB, in case these are colliding,
which i tend not to believe.

Thanks for your hints and time to read this lengthy Message.

If I recall correctly, Parallels has an "auto-attach" feature for USB devices. Essentially, when you plug in a USB device, Parallels grabs it immediately and makes it available to the guest operating system.

Please make sure that the eHome Infrared Transceiver device isn't attached to any Parallels virtual machine.

If that isn't it, please reply to the support inquiry another time and attach a system profile (as saved from System-Profiler.app).

Well you recall correctly, anyway Parallels is not running (i did only list any non Apple kexts) therefore Parallels cannot grab it for any guest OS.

I would be glad to have other users just state out if their ehome Receiver (more specific the Mantra TR1) is functioning under 10.6.2, just to make sure it makes sense for me to look deeper into this issue

Kind regards

It works fine here (Mac Pro, 10.6.2) and I haven't received any other reports.

A few things I noticed while going through the system profile you sent in another time:

- you seem to have leftovers from a previous mira install on your system (at least, "miraUSBDriver" turns up in the IOKit registry dump)

- I see a lot of "com_parallels_usb_connect" entries during your machine's boot. I haven't used Parallels for a long time (switched to VMware as soon as it became available), so I don't know whether or not devices connected to its virtual machines are automatically grabbed even if the VMs are not in use. I recommend to at least look through your Parallels' VMs to exclude the possibility that Parallels is the cause.
