Trouble getting Aluminum Remote to work
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi,

i am testing Remote Buddy with new aluminum remote from Apple, no success so far, Remote Buddy completely ignore this remote.
I run Remote Buddy 1.16.2 + Mantra TR1 USB on Snow Leopard 10.6.2.
Another test with an older white/plastik Apple remote works like charm.

I checked SystemPrefs/Security, there is no pairing and it says is accepts any remote.

Any idea why RB didn't accept my Aluminum Remote? it works fine with my Universal Dock to control my iPhone.

Thanks in advance

Takio

Thanks for asking.

What you describe in fact sounds as if you've paired your receiver with your old remote already.

The pairing setting in System Preferences/Security, however is exclusively for use with built-in Apple IR Receivers.

For external receivers, the pairing setting that matters is located at Remote Buddy > Prefs > [External Receiver] > Apple Remote.
