Setup mapping for Harmony One's 'F' buttons in Plex?
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
When setting up the Harmony One remote with Plex it offers 'F' buttons (F1, F2, F3, F4 etc.) even though there aren't any physical buttons for these on the Harmony One remote. These can be added to the touch screen display, and appear to be separate from the F keys on a physical keyboard.

If you look in ~/Applications/Plex/Contents/Resources/Plex/Keymaps/ you can see keyboard.xml and harmony.xml you can override the harmony.xml file inside the app by creating a new file at ~Library/Application Support/Plex/keymaps/harmony.xml, and create aliases to jump straight to Movies, TV Shows etc. as well as use functions for toggle fullscreen, toggle watched etc. You can then setup the F keys for the on screen display of the remote using the Harmony One software.

This works fine when not running Remote Buddy. I successfully got the Harmony One remote working with Remote Buddy setting up the Plex functions in Remote Buddy's software for the physical buttons on the remote, but can't see how to to access the keymaps in the custom harmony.xml files from Remote Buddy.

I did try adding F1, F2, F3 etc. as custom action keystrokes, but these will be commands from a physical keyboard I think.
