Did you guys see the last thread I posted yesterday?
.... You should read it. Its also good to find someone who havent had
any issues with the Sony BD Remote either. Just to confirm if is this
is true. Have you already paired the remote with another device (eg
you PS3)? Yes/no...

No I am not referring to power matters…
batteries are ok.
Hardware unpairs and has to be paired again,
It's definitely a software issue

No, i haven't paired it with anytihing else…
Thats unfortunate as would have gone some way to explaining our
situation here. The thing about the Sony remote is that it doesnt
actually require pairing in the conventional sense. Instead, the host
system (bluetooth receiver) needs to know the Bluetooth ID of the
remote (its like the Mac address). We can see this in the RB
Preferences window under hardware. However after the connection to the
remote has disconnected the 1st time, any future signals are
intercepted by the OS-X Bluetooth stack. And then we see this message
on any key press:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/588496/RB-PS3-REMOTE/Pairing%20request%20-%20OSX%20BT%20Stack.png
So it looks like the message is intercepted by the OS and therefore
does not reach RB. Although if we try the RB Pairing Wizard it will
re-establish connection. Perhaps during the Pairing wizard, RB is
doing something to block this popup window. For example establish a
new bluetooth connection?
Here is a quote from Felix, about the fashion in which RB
communication with the Sony BD Remote:
"Where device-side auto-connect is supported - for example with the
Sony PS3 BD Remote - Remote Buddy knows about it and uses it and does
never try to open a connection by itself. Instead it let's the device
open it itself as soon as it the device is turned on."
So perhaps we really are being intercepted because RB is not Polling
the Sony BD Remote (compared to how the Wii does). However with the
exception that during pairing a connection is established for the
first time. Subsequent connections seem to be interrupted by the OS-X
bluetooth stack and ask for the (not-needed) pairing request.
I think this explanation might fit with what we are seeing here. If
its true, then we can only hope for some checkbox option to enable an
occasional polling of the Sony BD Remote, similar to what we have for
Wii. What I cannot explain is why there is no polling or connection
made during Remote Buddy startup, even when we have checked this
option in preferences window vv
