hi,

right now the plex app has a feature (via the background process plexhelper) which ties to the apple remote only to the plex app if the remote's menu button is tied to plex even when the plex app is not running. you can turn it off and use it only once the plex app has launched (so no plexhelper) for menu navigation within plex but that defeats the purpose of using the remote.

i would like to be able to use the apple remote for other apps like itunes also on the same mac.

can remotebuddy help with this? (note this assumes that plexhelper feature would have to be turned off in the plex app losing the launch feature but something in remotebuddy would help supplant this as much as being able to use it for itunes which the remote naturally does when the plexhelper feature is turned off)

thanks.

Thanks for asking.

Remote Buddy is designed to allow you to control more than one application. With default settings, when you press the Menu button on your Apple Remote, it'll open a menu from which you can control the currently active application (please see the Remote Buddy website for a list of applications supported out of the box) or - by pressing the "left" button and going up one level in the menu's hierarchy - select another application to launch/change to and control.

You can download a free 30 day, unrestricted trial version of Remote Buddy from our website at
http://www.iospirit.com/products/remotebuddy/download/

I highly encourage you to give it a try.

Best regards,
Felix Schwarz
