Exporting to "new" Mac
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
I'm reinstalling everything from scratch on my Mac. I thought that I could pull the com.iospirit files over to transfer all the arduous work it took to set up my Harmony with Remote Buddy, but that did nothing.

Please don't make me redo everything. Please tell me how I can pull all that over.

Thank you!

Thanks for asking.

Please see this FAQ:

http://www.iospirit.com/support/faqs/remotebuddy/category/8/Configuration/entry/234/How-can-I-transfer-my-Remote-Buddy-settings-to-another-Mac/

What’s absolutely key is that:

1) Remote Buddy is not running at the time you transfer the files
2) If Remote Buddy has been running, you may also need to enter

killall cfprefsd

in Terminal.app to kill the deamon responsible for managing preference files (and apparently caching their contents, too) *before* you copy over the files
