Media Center Suggestions

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi Felix,

I'm using RB with a mac mini as a media center and have a few suggestions - sorry if some have been brought up already...

I have set up a folder on my desktop called "quick links", with links to web sites, radio stations, movies, etc. I can navigate to this though "files>desktop>quick links" with RB, but i'd like to be able to customise the RB menus. Ideally when pressing the remote menu, just have front row and "quick links" listed - the stuff i'll be using most of the time, and keep it simple for other people using the remote. (Sounds like custom menus are in the works - hopefully i'd be able to set them up like this.)

When i open up the "quick links" folder in th RB menu, i'd like to be able to simplify this menu as well:
- an option to drop the file details at the top of this screen - will be able to get more items listed too.
- all my links have .webloc extensions - can i remove this some way now, or can there be an option to not have these.
- when selecting an item, the 'launch with...' menu comes up - i changed the settings in finder to 'always open with' but this still comes up in the RB, and only safari (and finder and realplayer) is shown, not firefox, for web pages. Can there be an option so selecting will just open the web page or radio stream.

Also, could there be an option to remove the help/button mapping screen, so if play is pressed when front row is selected in the menu, it goes straight to front row.

Regards,

Andy

Hello Andy,

thanks for all of your suggestions. While some are already integrated
in concepts for future features, others were new and I've added them
to the ToDo list respectively.

Thanks!

Felix
