Hi!

I have purchased RemoteBuddy, but doesn't have a supported Remote. I thought that you were still able to use the app from the kayboard. If you provided a way to map the Apple Remote buttons to keys you would actually support a whole lot more remotes and options.
I have a wireless keayboard to control my media central Mac mini and this would be perfect. I love your concept wwith menus. I also use a Logitech Harmony Remote that talks to a Keyspan Receiver, which maps buttons to keys as well. This means I would be able to use both the Keyboard or the remote, and a whole lot of 3rd party remotes, since most of the drivers let you map to keys.

I really hope you're planning this for a future release beacuse right now I can't use your product that have paid for...

Hello Conny,

thanks for your posting.

Sorry to hear you can't currently use Remote Buddy because you don't
have any supported hardware. Preview 7 should fix this for you,
though ;-)

In the meantime, please also check out the mail I sent directly to you.

Best regards,
Felix Schwarz

I'm unclear why you can't use your Harmony remote with Remote Buddy. If programmed right, the Harmony can send the exact IR codes as the Apple Remote, so what's the problem?

Hello Rob,

thanks for bringing this back up.

The information in the thread is outdated nowadays. Remote Buddy does
support the respective Keyspan receivers and remotes directly for
quite a few months by now. So, yes, the Harmony, if programmed
correctly, should work just fine.

Best regards,
Felix
