Small powerpoint issue and a big iPhoto behaviour request
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi,
I am tried the demo version and remote buddy is really amazing. Usually I don't use my remote but now I think its going to be within my reach most of them time!

One of my main use will be for controlling powerpoint presentations. I was testing it through a long slide show and as the play button on the remote is bigger (compared to the next or prev button), I may accidentally hit it and it exits the presentation. Then when I wish to continue the slideshow, it will start with the first slide again.

Is there any way to start the presentation with the current active slide?

Next is a request for iPhoto's behaviours. I organise my photos by film rolls. One of the available actions is to "select album".

Can there be one to "Select Flim Roll" instead?

Keep up with the great work on this cool app. =)

Hi Colin,

thanks for sharing.

PowerPoint does currently not support this via AppleScript, but you
may try to define an action and map it to the PowerPoint behaviour
using one of the key combinations from the "PowerPoint doesn't work"
thread.

Other than that, you could delete the mapping for the Play button for
the PowerPoint presentation and map its functionality to "Play
(hold)" instead. This way, your slideshow will run until you really
want to quit it by keeping the play button pressed for a few seconds.

Also, preview 7 may have something for you ;-)

Regarding iPhoto: yes, I know there's still a lot of room for
improvement. The behaviour that currently ships with Remote Buddy
actually took only about 30 minutes to create and was a "last minute"
feature. Expect more in that direction with future releases. Your
request regarding film rolls is now on the ToDo list.

Best regards,
Felix
