RB won't work for my Keynote

Hi..
I supposed if I click PLAY button it will start slideshow...didnt happen

only buttons that works is FWD and RW button which work for NEXT and PREVIOUS slides..

i cant get slide switcher on the screen
or play/pause/accept ...

tell me whats wrong or what am i doing wrong

Hardware - Apple® Remote

After uninstalling/quitting Remote Buddy, my Mac® no longer reacts to the Apple® Remote. (FAQ015E0241)
To enable you to use all capabilities of the IR Receiver of your Mac®, Remote Buddy is using its own driver. In contrast, all other applications with integrated Apple® Remote support usually use the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.

As long as you're running Remote Buddy, Remote Buddy and its driver are responsible for turning the received button presses into actions. As soon as you quit Remote Buddy, this task is again handled by the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.

If other applications don't use the interface to the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem correctly, this can lead to the effect that nothing happens when you press a button on your Apple® Remote. For as long as you're running Remote Buddy, issues like this are covered by Remote Buddy and it's driver and are therefore not visible to you. However, as soon as you quit Remote Buddy, the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem is back in control and any issues caused in it by other applications become visible.

Therefore Remote Buddy is neither the cause of the issue nor is it responsible for it. Instead, the cause of the issue exists independently of Remote Buddy. It's located elsewhere and can also only be solved there.

Although our products can't cause any such issues, we're regularly contacted about such issues and asked for help. In order to make locating and fixing the cause of such issues as easy and efficient as possible, we've developed a free diagnostics tool: Remote Control Diagnostics. It can locate issues with a single click and will provide you with information about the issue as well as with instructions on how you can fix it.

thanks for asking.

You may have accidently pressed the Menu button - which would usually
display the Remote Buddy menu. Keynote, however, does capture the
screen during its presentation, so Remote Buddy can't display its
overlay. To make it possible for Remote Buddy to display its menu,
please activate the checkbox "Exposé, Dashboard ... may use the
screen" in the "Presentation" category of Keynote's preferences.

The mapping of the buttons is then displayed to you whenever you
press Menu. Do, however, note, that you should dismiss the menu again
by pressing Menu, so you do actually trigger the actions for Keynote
instead of navigate the menu.

I don't see any error sources beyond that. Remote Buddy uses
AppleScript to communicate with Keynote - which should always work in
the same way.

hi thanks for ur quick reply
however i still have same issue with using RB for my KeyNote

I also thought pressing menu button accidently would be the cause and after you told me to change keynote's preference, I can even see if im having menu screen on or not..

however that is not the issue..

basically only buttons from my remote that works for my keynote are FWD and RW buttons to move slide back and forth...

if i press play button, nothing happens..
if i hold pressing play button again, nothing happens..

for other keys, nothing happens...

(of course if i press menu, it pops up)

hm...

what would be the cuase?
i tried to delete and reinstall too
but didnt solve the issue help me plz

Hi,

One more possible error source that springs to mind would be that you
have mapped the respective buttons globally, so they no longer get
passed through to the respectively active Behaviour. Do these buttons
work ok for you in i.e. iTunes?

Beyond that, I fear there's little I can do. Remote Buddy uses
AppleScript to tell Keynote what it is supposed to do - and doesn't
have any influence of what Keynote does beyond that point.

I only have the latest version of Keynote available to look at and
test with. It may be possible that older versions did not implement
the required commands - although I'd doubt that since those really
are the most basic ones.
