Can't access the remote buddy's preference panel from the menu bar

After purchasing a lisence and entering it in remote buddy I can't access the preferences panel any more. I fact, I don't even get the whole menu. The remote buddy symbol (in the menu bar) just does not respond to clicking on it. Is this a bug of the beta version or is there a solution to the problem?

Hello Kosta,

thanks for posting.

I've audited the entire code responsible for menu handling and 
couldn't find any apparant cause for this. So it must be a very well 
hidden bug.

Could you please zip

- your copy of "Remote Buddy.app" 
- its associated preference files ~/Library/Preferences/ 
com.iospirit.*emote*uddy*.plist 
- a System Profiler profile (just open System Profiler and choose 
"Save .." from the menu)

and upload the ZIP files via http://www.picturearena.com/upload/?

I can then try to reproduce and solve the problem. Right now I don't 
have any idea of what might be causing this.

I'm having the same problem in most versions of the program, although the previous install was fine. I currently have whatever version was sent out Friday, November 24th at 3:55. The previous version allowed me to change the preferences without any trouble, but not this one, or a few versions prior.

thanks for letting me know!

Are you sure you don't have multiple copies of Remote Buddy on your 
harddrive? 
Did you start Remote Buddy manually?

Assuming you have Remote Buddy installed in /Applications, what does 
entering this

cat /Applications/Remote\ Buddy.app/Contents/Info.plist 
tail -f /Library/Logs/Console/501/console.log | grep Remote

yield when being entered in Terminal.app and only then starting 
Remote Buddy and clicking at the menu item?

Does the menu item appear at all?
