This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
 
This sounds very much like if your batteries have run empty. Bluetooth 
remotes draw *a lot* more power than Infrared remotes. Please try with 
fresh batteries.

I'm gonna try this in a few and report back. If this is the case, then it's absolutely ridiculous. Four days? Brand new batteries? Atrocious.
