Any chance to disable Apple Remote for Keyspan receiver?
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hello,

I've using Remote Buddy with a Keyspan receiver and an apple remote on a Mac mini for a while now. I just purchased an Apple TV and have it sitting right next to my Mac mini as a DVD player/Media Player setup.

I'm using the Keyspan remote for the Mac mini now with Remote Buddy and the Apple Remote with the Apple TV. As you can imagine, unless I deactivate the apple remote from the Mac Mini, both the apple tv and remote buddy are receiving the signal.

I know how to disable the apple remote manually:
Remote Buddy Icon : Deactivate Apple Remote

The problem is, everytime I restart this computer it activates the apple remote by default. Then I have to fire up VNC to turn it off manually, which is a pain. Is there a setting for deactivating it permanently?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Lawrence

Hello Lawrence,

thanks for asking.

Right now, you can't disable the Apple Remote for the Keyspan
Receiver other than you have already pointed out. I see the need for
this functionality, though, and will add it in future releases.

Best regards,
Felix
