That was the only one, and I deleted it.. rebooted and re-added the remote through remote-buddy and the issue persists.

 
Sorry, but thats insufficient. Have you ever seen inside the ByHost 
directory? OSX peturbs plist filenames within there by a unique HostId.

You could cd into each of the 4-5 preferences locations and either 
find or ls -l *luetooth*

Delete or move all matches (however unlikely they might seem). Then try again.

Also check Library/Caches directories. Same deal: 
find or ls -l *luetooth*
