This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
The wii-mote does not have a problem pairing, perhaps it is a different class of Bluetooth device. I don't know what the difference is between the two devices. Both do not require a passcode. One thing to note is that when the pairing finishes, there are two lines displayed by the Apple Bluetooth dialog: #1 Pairing was successful and #2 Device is now ready ... ... ..., whereas with the PS3 controller, it only says #2 Device is now ready
