This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.

The main difference between the Wii Remote and the Sony PS3 BD Remote is this:

1) For the Wii Remote, Remote Buddy has to actively seek it and initiate the connection: the Mac connects to the remote, if found powered on. Remote Buddy is involved in making the connection.

2) For the BD Remote, the remote initiates the connection to OS X: the remote connects to the Mac. Everything is handled entirely by the OS X Bluetooth stack. Remote Buddy is not involved in making the connection.

It is due to this technical difference that the Wii Remote is not affected by this issue.
