Re: PS3 Remote: it does not work like the others

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Thanks for asking.

Please provide more information on your setup:

- Mac model and CPU (Intel / PowerPC)

- OS X release in use

- Remote Buddy version in use

- Are you using a Sony BD Remote (as pictured on the Remote Buddy site's Hardware section) or a Sony Blue-Ray Remote (the latter is a universal remote)?

Also, with regards to physics:

Im stumped, BT is my only option as my media server is in a rack in my basement

- What is the distance between your Mac and your remote - and is there a wall or ceiling in-between?

- Can you reproduce the issue when you're in the same room as your Mac?

- Did you try with a fresh pair of batteries?

. a BT keyboard has no problems keeping sync'd up.

All BT devices belong to a certain class that specifies the range they can be used within. AFAIK the Sony BD Remote is a class 2 remote, which is specified for a range of 10 meters maximum (with a direct line of sight and nothing in-between that could weaken the signal). Your keyboard may be in a different class (f.ex. Class 1 is specified for a range of 100 meters).

Best regards,
Felix Schwarz
